I was so excited to be a part of such a special day! The forecast was -22 and I think it was actually only -20. 😉 Scott and Jolynn were married in a much warmer place originally, but their temple sealing took place in the Cardston temple just after Christmas. A sealing is a special ceremony that takes place in LDS temples that members believe “seals” a couple together for eternity, not just “until death do us part.” On this special day, their son Hayden was also sealed to them, as an eternal family. It was such an honor to be able to document this for them! They were troopers in the freezing cold, and Jolynn had this amazing cape/shawl custom made for her. I think it took a little of the chill off, but we still jumped in and out of cars to stay warm between shots!
A must-have for any winter wedding or photoshoot is nice warm boots (Jolynn was very smart and had super warm boots under that gorgeous dress!) and/or those little packets that warm up when exposed to air – you can stick them in your pockets or in your boots to give off heat for your hands and toes. Just a quick tip for anyone else preparing for cold temperature pics! In the snow, nobody will see any shoes! Except the groom’s. Sorry grooms. 😉
We met up before the sealing ceremony to do most of their photos, and then afterwards we took photos with family and friends! Thanks for having me Hollingsworth family!
Scott and Jolynn were definitely naturals in front of a camera, even while freezing! They have been married for a few years now, but they are still very much in love and so fun to photograph together! You would think they were newlyweds.
Hayden was also a natural in front of the camera, as you can see. He is a model, after all!
All done! Congratulations!!
